032c Gallery opens in Seoul

PRESS RELEASE

Seoul, Republic of Korea–April 24, 2024

032c is pleased to announce the opening of the 032c Gallery in Seoul, the brand’s first retail and exhibition space in Asia.

Located in the up-and-coming neighborhood Seongsu, the 032c Gallery has been inaugurated in partnership with Musinsa, Korea’s leading fashion platform. The launch marks the physical expansion of the 032c universe to South Korea, a place which founder and editor-in-chief Joerg Koch calls the “holy grail” of fashion.

Jihoon Lee, CEO of Musinsa Trading, on the opening of 032c Gallery: “I'm glad that Musinsa Trading has become an official partner of 032c. I hope that 032c Gallery Seoul can establish itself as a place where diverse cultures can be experienced, not just fashion.”

Designed by the architect firm Gonzalez Haase AAS, the store reflects Seoul’s “energy and curiosity about what’s new,” according to Koch. Alongside the product and exhibition offerings, Koch intends for the space to “become the crystallizing point for an 032c community in Seoul.”

032c Gallery opens with the two-screen video installation Catastrophe Colours by Gonzales Haase AAS. Drawn from their ongoing research project of the same name, Catastrophe Colours visualizes the architects’ “critical approach on how colors are chosen to be applied in architecture and design.”

With a red exhibition area mirroring 032c’s storefront in Berlin and a minimalist product section separated by a dividing wall, the store will feature exhibitions and showcase complete 032c Readytowear collections designed by Maria Koch alongside magazine print issues, posters, and specialty items. The 032c Gallery opened with a private event on Friday, April 19, 2024, and to the general public on Saturday, April 20.
